The North Eastern Lumber Manufacturers Association is the rules writing agency for Eastern White Pine Lumber and other Northern Softwoods. This website is a great resource for checking out grading rules and standard milling patterns for Northern species.

The website for the National Hardwood Lumber Association contains a great deal of valuable information. Among other things, all of the grading rules for North American Hardwoods can be found here.

The National Lumber grading Authority is responsible for writing, interpreting and maintaining Canadian Lumber grading rules and standards. Among other things, you can purchase a variety of publications from the site including the National grading Rules.
